My Story

​Welcome to Big Oak Construction! I'm AJ Young, and I bring over 30 years of hands-on experience in residential and commercial construction, remodels, and premium tilework. Every project I take on is guided by a commitment to craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and lasting quality.

Growing up in Pacific Junction, IA, I watched my dad build, remodel, and create custom designs for others. It showed me early on the impact that quality work and attention to detail can have on a home — and the people in it. That passion for building, design, and working with my hands has stayed with me ever since.

Today, I specialize in everything from kitchen and bathroom renovations to custom tilework, home remodels, and outdoor builds. I also offer made-to-order furniture pieces like live edge tables, shelving, and custom cabinets, helping every space feel uniquely yours.
