My Story

I’m AJ Young, owner of Big Oak Construction. I have more than 30 years of hands-on experience in residential and commercial construction, remodeling, and custom tilework.

I grew up in Pacific Junction, Iowa, watching my dad build, remodel, and create custom pieces for others. I started learning the trade early and developed an appreciation for doing things the right way, paying attention to the details, and taking pride in the finished product.

Today, my work includes kitchen and bathroom renovations, custom showers, tile floors and backsplashes, home remodeling, outdoor projects, and custom woodworking. I also build made-to-order furniture, cabinetry, shelving, and live-edge pieces.

I’m hands-on with every project and believe the quality of the work matters just as much in the places you can’t see as the places you can.

Big Oak Construction serves Glenwood, Council Bluffs, Omaha, and communities throughout southwest Iowa and eastern Nebraska.
